Planning - Storyboards

Our storyboards for our location shoot are completed, and I am satisfied with the outcome. These opening pages show the introduction of the video as calm and relaxed (the 'calm before the storm'). These shots are mainly establishing shots, showing the band members' solidarity and loneliness early on in the video.

The second portion shows the chorus and the heavier side of the video. Elements of destruction such as smashing things and kicking things is featured in the first verse, and the violence and rebellion begins to dramatically worsen as the video unfolds. However in the second verse, this mania subsides and recedes to a calm demeanor.

This final page shows our interlude/bridge/instrumental and how the video regresses into a once again calm mood after the violence of the previous chorus. This builds and builds, with twitching fingers and anxious faces of the band members before our set piece of the video - the toilet smashing. This leads directly into the final chorus and winds up the video, showing the destructive side of our chosen audiences.

The video fades into a solemn black at the end. This signifies that the video has come full circle, showing that nothing has changed in the band members lives - which is a change to normal music videos, which show a re-equilibrium at the end of the video (the Equilibrium-Disruption-Re-Equilibrium theory was put forward by Todorov).
